Hosanna! Save Us Son of David!

Hosanna! Save Us Son of David!

Jesus asked, What do you want?
… to see
…we brought you our friend so that he might walk
…I’ve bled for 12 years
…my child is sick
…my brother is dead
…we are oppressed by the heathen Romans!

He answered, Your sins are forgiven.

One of the criminals hurled insults at him, “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”

Our sins? No, Hosanna! Save us from our pain! Save us from our illness! Deliver us from our circumstances!
I AM

Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.

The women who had come with Jesus from the Galil followed Joseph and saw the tomb and how his body was placed in it. But the sabbath was about to begin. They went back home to prepare spices and ointments. On the sabbath the women rested, in obedience to the commandment.

The women who followed Jesus, who loved Jesus, had to wait. They had to rest. They could not attend to Jesus’ body and prepare it properly for entombment. They could not work on the sabbath. So they waited.

They could not stay busy to distract themselves from their grief. They had to rest, be still, and wait in their pain.
