1. How do you understand the concept of submission? What does “as fitting to the Lord” mean? (v. 18)

2. In verse 19, why would Paul add the phrase, “and do not be harsh with them?”

3. Is it reasonable to expect children to obey their parents in everything? Why does Paul propose something so unattainable? (v. 20)

4. What are some ways that fathers embitter their children?

5. Verse 22 speaks to more than just slaves and masters. Think of times when you did something just to “curry favor.”
