Men’s Breakfast featuring Ray Randolph

Men’s Breakfast featuring Ray Randolph

Join us on February 4 at 8 am for our Men’s Breakfast. Pastor Doug will be interviewing Ray Randolph about his experiences as a member of the Richmond 34 and a Freedom Rider.

On February 22, 1960 Ray joined 33 other Virginia Union University students in a sit-in at a white’s only lunch counter in Thalhimer’s Department Store. In the summer of 1961, as a 21 year old, he spent more than a month in a Mississippi jail cell for participating in the “Freedom Ride” across the Deep South. One of 400 riders, Ray and others, were recently honored by Oprah Winfrey in one of her final television shows. Ray’s story is one of perseverance and confidence in the face of extreme adversity.
